MORE TO KNOW -

• In the process of photosynthesis following events occurs

i) capture of sunlight in chlorophyll

ii) Conversion of sunlight energy into chemical energy.

iii) Splitting of water molecules

iv) Reduction of hydrogen to form carbohydrates

• Chlorophyll is present in the surface of leaves it captures sunlight energy.

• Raw materials like carbon dioxide is taken from envionment and other nutrients like phosphorus, ammomia etc are taken from roots.

• Water is transported in plants through Xylem tissue.

• Food and minerals are transported through phloem tissue.

• water ( h2o) is reduced to Carbon - dioxide and make carbohydrates.

• The food form is in the form of Glucose and it is stored in vacoule.

• It is used to produced energy.
