⇨ Photosynthesis is a proces which literally means 'making out of light'. The roots absorb the water and minerals from the soil and the leaves absorb a gas called CO² (carbon dioxide).Then,the plant convert these ingredients into food using sunlight. This whole procedure of making food for the whole plant is called photosynthesis.

Without photosynthesis , the plants can't survive as we can't survive without food.

↦Photosynthesis only happens during the daytime as at night time there is no sun to receive sunlight at all. Due to stoppage of photosynthesis at night,the plants starts to release carbon dioxide like us at night.
