We know that our alimentary canal is started from mouth to rectum.

First when we take food it first carry into our mouth and we chewed it by our teeth, then it passes down from oesophagus by peristalsis, then it goes to stomach where different reactions take place then, the food fully become digested and pass either through urine or finally passes by rectum.

That means the process of digestion begins when food had reached to our stomach.
