When we store data, it doesn't store at a single place on the disk. We keep on storing and erasing data in our routine work.
This storing and erasing of data make Fragments on the disk. These fragments reduces the working speed of our computer because it becomes harder to read data and execute accordingly.
So there is an option of De-fragmentation.
This is the process through which the on-disk tree files merged to create larger consolidated stores. This process brings the Fragments on the Disk to the original position. It makes the Data Reading smoother and faster.
