(1.7 x 104) × (12.5 × 10°)

= 1.7 x 104 x 12.5 x 106

= 1.7 x 12.5 x 104 x 106

= 1.7 x 12.5 × 104+6

= 1.7 x 12.5 x 1010

= 21.25 x 1010

= 2.125 x 1011 =

Now we have this number in the form: k x 10" here we have k= 2.125 and n = 11. Just substitute the = values of k x 10' and simplify to get the required answer

2k + n

= 2(2.125) + 11

= = 4.25 + 11

15.25

  • To solve this let's Find out the product of the given numbers and express them in standard form

1.7 × 10^4 × 12.5× 10^6

= 21.25 × 10^10

= 2.125 × 10^11

As it is in the standard form for

<< 2.125 × 10^11 = k × 10^n

comparing both sides we get:-

>> k = 2.125 and n= 11

So, the value of 2k + n will be

= 2 × 2.125 + 11

= 4.25 + 11

= 15.25 ✔️

➜Hence, the value of 2k + n is 15.25
