( a - b ) ( a + b ) = a² - b²

The above expression completely fits in this equation:

Let’s substitute 2 with a: 2 = a and √3 with b: √3 = b

This will equate to 2²- ( √3 )²

The square exponent of (√3)² will cancel the under root and make it 3.

Squaring 2 will give you 4

∴ 4 - 3 = 1.
