  • Given : The product of 2 numbers is 144. LCM = 12.

  • To find : The HCF.

We know that, HCF × LCM = The product of the 2 given numbers.

So, HCF × 12 = 144

HCF = \frac{144}{12}

                  HCF = 12.

Verification :

         LCM × HCF = Product of 2 numbers.

                  12 × 12 = 144

                    144 = 144

             Hence Verified!

Trust me, it's a tricky question but is quite easy ;)

Let the numbers be x and y

\\

As we know,

The product of two numbers = The LCM and HCF of the numbers

\\

So we can say that,

= x × y = LCM × HCF

= 144 = 12 × HCF

=\displaystyle{\frac {144}{12}}= HCF

{\tt{\blue {The\:HCF\:is\:therefore\:12}}}
