  • The product of the age of ram before 5 years and his age after 10 years is 16

To find ➡

  • The present age of Ram = ?

Let the present age of Ram be :- x

According to question,

( x - 5 ) ( x + 10 ) = 16

➡ x² - 5x + 10x - 50 = 16

➡ x² + 5x - 50 - 16 = 0

➡ x² + 5x - 66 = 0

➡ x² + ( 11 - 6 )x - 66 = 0

➡ x² + 11x - 6x - 66 = 0

➡ x ( x + 11 ) - 6 ( x + 11 ) = 0

➡ ( x - 6 ) ( x + 11 ) = 0

Therefore ,

x - 6 = 0

➡ x = 6

x + 11 = 0

➡ x = - 11

Now , age can never be negative ( - ) so the value of x or the age of Ram will be = 6
