let the present age of Ramu be X.

Before 5 years age of Ramu = (X-5) years.

After 7 years age of Ramu = (X+7) years.

A/Q,

(X-5)(X+7) = 28

X(X+7) - 5(X+7) = 28

X² + 7X - 5X - 35 = 28

X² + 2X = 28+35

X²+2X = 63

X²+2X-63 = 0
