now given that

XY=120....(I)

and 3y=X+2...(2)

from (1) and (2)

=>X(X+2)=360

=>xx+2x-360=0

=>xx+20x-18x-360=0

=>X(X+20)-18(X+20)=0

=>(X+20)(x-18)=0

=>X=18
