let a & n be the current age of Ankit & Nikita respectively: 

a * n = 240 

2n = a + 4 => a = 2n - 4 

n(2n - 4) = 240 

2n^2 - 4n - 240 = 0 

n^2 - 2n - 120 = 0 

(n + 10)(n - 12) = 0 

n = -10 , 12 => reject the negative age: 

n = 12 years old 

let's check: 
a = 240/12 = 20 years old 
2 * 12 = 20 + 4 
24 = 24
