Answer:

57

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the answer is 3363, with 3 at the ones place, the only consecutive odd combination that produces a number with 3 at the ones place is either 3*1 or 7*9. Hence, 57 x 59 = 3363. And the smaller of these two is 57.

Let smaller no. be = x

Bigger no. Be = x + 2

Per question,

( x ) ( x + 2 ) = 3363

X^2 + 2x = 3363

x^2 + 2x - 3363 = 0

x^2 +59x - 57x - 3363 =0

Taking x and 57 common . We get ,

x ( x + 59 ) - 57 ( x + 59 ) = 0

( x - 57 ) ( x + 59 ) = 0

x = 57 ,

Hence we get the numbers as 57 & 59

So , smaller number is 57
