The product of the numbers denoting the ages (in ages) of two adults is 770. what is the sum of their ages (in years)?

Sum of their ages is 57years.

EXPLANATION:
X*Y=770
Y=770/X

10*77=770
Hence sum of ages is
10+77=87 years

But as both individuals in this problem are adults & in India 21 is the age limit to be considered an adult
Let's start with 21

Let X=21 Then Y=770/X
Y=770/21=36.6666
Which can't be valid as ages should be whole numbers

Let X=22 then Y=770/22=35
As both ages are whole numbers,
Sum of ages=22+35=57

All further increments of X
give fractional values of Y or Y is less than 21


So the only valid combination of numbers above 21 which yield a product of 770 is (22,35)
or (35,22) in either case sum will be 57years
