Let the numbers be x, and y

x*y =  1998

x*y= 28

Factors of 28 = 2*14 , 7*4

As 7 and 4 r the only 1 digit factors we take them as the unit digit.

x*y = 15

5*3 = 15

From these only 37 * 54 = 1998. Therefore, the two numbers are 37 and 54.
