Algebraic method :
(x) + (x+1) =4623
2x+1          = 4623
2x              = 4623-1
2x              = 4622
x                = 4622÷2
x                = 2311

small no.=x
big no. = x +1
small no. = 2311
big no. = 2312

Method 2
4623-1 = 4622
4622 / 2 = 2311

small number = 2311
big number = 2311+1
                     = 2312
