9 is the required number. As smaller number is 81 .So square root of 81 is 9 .
Solution→
Let the two odd numbers as x and x+2
Now A/q :
x( x+2) = 6723
x² + 2x = 6723
x² + 2x + 6723 = 0
Here we got a quadratic equation . So by using quadratic formula we will find the value of x.
Quadratic formula= - b +/-( √ b²-4ac) / 2a
here a= 1, b = 2 ,c = -6723.
→ [-2 +/- √ 2² - 4 (1)(-6723)]/2
→ -2+/-(√4+26892)/2
→ -2 +/-(164)/2
Now using +ve term
→ -2 +164 / 2
→ 162/ 2 = 81
So x = 81 and x+2 = 83
Smaller number = 81
Square root of 81 = 9
