x +(x + 1) = 73

x + x + 1 = 73

2x = 73 - 1

x = 72/2

x = 36

So,x = 36 and x + 1 = 36 + 1 =37

smallest integer is 36

THE QUESTION IS WRONG IT SHOULD BE SUM OF TWO CONSECUTIVE INTEGER NOT PRODUCT

LET THE ONE INTEGER = X

SO THE OTHER INTEGER = X +1

ATQ

X + X+1 = 73

2X + 1 = 73

2X = 72

X = 36

SO THE OTHER INTEGER IS 37

HENCE 36 IS THE SMALLER INTEGER
