GIVEN :-

  • The product of two fraction is 12 (3/5)
  • One of the fraction is 2 (1/7)

TO FIND :-

  • The other fraction.

SOLUTION :-

Let the other fraction be x

A.T.Q

 \implies \sf 2 \dfrac{1}{7}  \times x \:  = 12 \dfrac{3}{5}  \\  \\  \implies  \sf \: \dfrac{15}{7}  \times x =  \dfrac{63}{5}  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: x =  \dfrac{63}{5}  \div  \dfrac{15}{7}  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: x \:  =  \dfrac{63}{5}  \times  \dfrac{7}{15}  \\  \\  \implies \sf \:x =   \dfrac{441}{75}  \\  \\  \implies \boxed{ \red{ \bf{5 \dfrac{66}{75} }}}

Hence the other fraction is 5 (66/75).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-

Rational numbers :- Any number which can be expressed in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0

Question:

The product of two fraction is 12 \dfrac{3}{5} if one of the fraction is 2 \dfrac{1}{7} find the others.

To find:

★ The other fraction.

Given :

★ The product of two fraction is 12 \dfrac{3}{5} .

★ One of the fraction is  2 \dfrac{1}{7} .

Answer:

The other fraction is \underline{\:\underline{\:\sf\pink{\bf{5 \dfrac{66}{75}}}\:} \:}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the other fraction be x

\longmapsto 2 \dfrac{1}{7} \times x \: = 12 \dfrac{3}{5}

\longmapsto  \: \dfrac{15}{7} \times x = \dfrac{63}{5}

\longmapsto  \large \: x =  \dfrac{  \frac{63}{5} }{ \frac{15}{7} }

 \longmapsto\: x \: = \dfrac{63}{5} \times \dfrac{7}{15}

\longmapsto \:x = \dfrac{441}{75}

Given the numbers are in mixed form,

So changing x = \dfrac{441}{75} to mixed form.

\longmapsto \boxed{x =  5 \dfrac{66}{75} }

\thereforeThe other fraction is \bf{\underline{\:5 \dfrac{66}{75}}\:} .

Additional information :

★ Mixed fraction:

A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction.

Example :- x = 5 \dfrac{17}{6} .

★ Proper fraction:

A fraction where the numerator is less than the denominator .

Example: x = \dfrac{1}{3} .
