Given :–

  • Product of two integers = –288.
  • One integer = 9.

To Find :–

  • The other integer.

Solution :–

Let,

The other integer be x.

According to the question,

First integer × Other integer = Product of two integers ––(1)

Given,

  • First integer = 9.
  • Product of two integers = –288

Now, put both the values in (1),

→ 9 × x = –288

→ 9x = –288

→ x =  \dfrac{\cancel{-288}}{\cancel9}

→ x = –32

Hence,

The other integer is –32.

Check :–

Values are :-

  • First integer = 9.
  • Other integer = –32.
  • Product of both integers = –288.

Now, put all the values in (1), we obtain

→ 9 × (–32) = –288

→ –288 = –288

Since, the L.H.S. and the R.H.S. are equal.

So, the other integer is –32 is correct.
