i. e x*y=24

x=24/y eq.(1)

sum of given 2 no. s is 14

x + y = 14

24/y + y = 14......fromeq. (1)

=>(24+y^2) = 14

y

=> y^2 - 14y + 24= 0

=> y²- 12y - 2y + 24 = 0

=> y(y-12) -2(y-12) =0

=> (y-2) (y-12)= 0

=> y=2 or y= 12

x+y= 14

x= 2 or x=12

the two numbers are 12 and 2.
