Step-by-step explanation:

Let the required rational number be = x

Other number = (-7/15)

Product of rational number = (-5)

⇒ (-7/15) × x = (-5)

⇒ -7x = (-5) × 15

⇒ X = (-75/-7) = 75/7

∴ The required rational number = 75/7

Solution:-

Given:-

Product of two numbers is  \frac{7}{8}

One number is  \frac{8}{5}

To find:-

The other number.

Formula:-

Product = 1st number × 2nd number

By the Problem:-

Product = 1st \:  number * 2nd \:  number \\  \frac{7}{8}  =  \frac{8}{5}  * 2nd  \: number \\ 2nd  \: number \:  =  \frac{7}{8}  \times  \frac{5}{8}  \\ 2nd  \: number =  \frac{35}{64}

Answer:-

The other number is  \frac{35}{64}

Verification:-

Product=1st \:number * 2nd \:number\\  Product= \frac{8}{5} *\frac{35}{64} \\  Product=\frac{7}{8} (Hence Proved)
