Given:-

  • Product of two numbers = 800
  • HCF = 5

To find:'

LCM

Solution:-

We know,

\sf{HCF \times LCM = Product\:of\:two\:numbers}

= \sf{5 \times LCM = 800}

= \sf{LCM = \dfrac{800}{5}}

= \sf{LCM = 160}

\sf{\therefore The\:LCM\:of\:the\:numbers\:is\:160}

Extra Information:-

There are two possible ways in which the question with same formula can be asked.

Example:-

Question:-

The HCF of two numbers is 4 and LCM is 9696. If one of the number is 96, find the other number.

Solution:-

HCF = 4

LCM = 9696

One number = 96

We know,

\sf{HCF \times LCM = 1st\:number\times 2nd\:number}

= \sf{4 \times 9696 = 96\times 2nd \:number}

=> \sf{2nd \:number = \dfrac{4\times 9696}{96}}

=> \sf{2nd\:number = 404}

\sf{\therefore The\:2nd \:number\:is\:404}

Formulas we learnt:-

  • \sf{HCF\times LCM = Product\:of\:two\:numbers}

  • \sf{HCF\times LCM = 1st\:number\times 2nd\:number}
