the product of two rational numbers is minus 12 upon 35 if one of them is 3 upon 5 find the absolute value of the difference of two rational numbers

let the unknown rational no be a
a/q                  a ×  3/5 = -12/35
                 ⇒ a =  -12/35 × 5/3
                     ∴  a =  -4/ 7

so, two rational nos. are 3/5 and -4/7.

now, their difference = 3/5 - (-4/7)
                                =  21+20/35
                               = 41/35

so, their absolute value of difference is 41/35.
