let smaller no. be x
successive no. is x+1

(x) \times (x + 1) = 8556
now do it in Ur own

Let the one number be x
And other number be (x+1)
A/q
 =  > x \times (x + 1) = 8556 \\  =  >  {x}^{2}  + x = 8556 \\  =  >  {x}^{2}  + x - 8556 = 0
Quadratic equations in variable x=
 =  >  {x}^{2}  + 93x - 92x - 8556 = 0 \\  =  > x(x + 93) - 92(x + 93) = 0
 =  > (x  - 92)(x + 93) \\ x = 92

Hence,smallest number is 92.

akashdeykolpaiuc5: After the line quadratic equations in variables, why did you take 92x and 93x?
Muskan1101: Because if we will multiple (92x × 93x) we will get 8556... and if we will subtract (92x -93x) we will get -x
akashdeykolpaiuc5: Ok, thanks.
