Answer: The correct answer is (3) nitrous acid.

Explaination:

Reaction of AgNo₃ and H₃PO₂ it forms the following product.

           AgNO₃ + H₃PO₂ + H₂O → Ag + H₃PO₄ + HNO₃

So, the product doesn't contain nitrous acid, Although it contain           Nitric acid, Phosphoric acid and Metallic silver.

In the above reaction, AgNO3 acts as reducing agent because the oxidation state of Ag decreases from +1 to 0 and oxidation state of Phosphorous increases from +1 to +5.

Nitrous acid

  • Nitrous acid is a brittle and unstable acidic substance. It is made by combining mineral acid with nitrite salt. used to remove the hazardous properties of the explosive sodium azide molecule.
  • Its uses are that it utilized in the production of azo dyes in the Sandmeyer reaction as well as the production of diazonium salts from amines.
