So,

The profit obtained on selling 5 smartphones would be,

= Rs. 2500 × 5

= Rs. 12500

Let "x" represent the no. of old mobiles sold by the shopkeeper 1 month.

Now, according to the question, we can form an equation for the net profit so obtained during the period of a month, which is as follows:

[Profit obtained on selling 5 android phones] + [Profit obtained on selling x old mobiles] = [Net profit obtained]

$\implies 12500 + (900x) = 17900$

$\implies 900x = 17900 - 12500$

$\implies 900x = 5400$

$\implies x = \frac{5400}{900}$
