Provision for Uniform Civil Code is stated in the Article 44 of the Indian Constitution. Uniform Civil Code states that “The State shall endeavour to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India” that comes under the Directive Principle of State Policy (DPSP).
It is common law for its citizens irrespective of gender, religion, caste etc and no special privilege given to any community based on the religion.
