pth term of an AP is = a + (p-1)d = 1/q ...1

qth term of an AP is = a + (q-1)d = 1/p ...2

SUBTRACT eq 1 and eq 2

we get

(p-1)d-(q-1)d=1/p-1/q

(p-1-q+1)=(p-q)/pq
