Given : Jasleen answers four questions every 30 seconds and Ella answers five questions every 40 seconds.

Jasleen took exactly 1 hour to answer a large set of questions.

To find : How many minutes more than Jasleen did Ella take to answer the same set of questions

Solution:

Jasleen answers four questions every 30 seconds

=> Jasleen answers  8 questions every  1 minutes

=>  Jasleen answers  60 x 8 = 480 questions every 60 minutes = 1hr

Ella answers five questions every 40 seconds.

=> 1 questions in 8 sec

=> 480 Questions  in 480 x 8 secs

= 480  x8 /60  min

= 8 * 8

= 64 mins

Hence 4 mins more taken by Ellina

Given :- Jasleen answers four questions every 30 seconds and Ella answers five questions every 40 seconds. Last week, Jasleen took exactly 1 hour to answer a large set of questions.

To Find :- How many minutes more than Jasleen did Ella take to answer the same set of questions ?

Answer :-

→ Jasleen answers in 4 question in = 30 sec.

→ Jasleen answer 1 question in = 30/4 = (15/2) sec.

so,

  • speed of jasleen = (15/2) question / sec .

similarly,

→ speed of Ella = 40/5 = 8 question / sec .

now,

→ 1 hour jasleen solved questions = Speed * Time = (15/2) * 60 * 60 = 27000 question = Total questions in the set .

then,

→ Time taken by Ella to solve questions of set = (27000/8) = 3375 seconds = (3375/3600) = (135/144) = (45/48) = (15/16) hours = (15/16) * 60 = 56(1/4) minutes .

since,

→ Ella time to solve the set < jasleen time .

→ 56(1/4) minutes < 1 hour .

therefore,

  • How many minutes more than Jasleen did Ella take to answer the same set of questions = wrong .

hence,

→ Less time taken by Ella than jasleen = 1 - {56(1/4)} = 3(3/4) minutes . (Ans.)
