m^2+5m-4=0\\a=1\\b=5\\c=-4\\D=b^2-4ac\\D=(5)^2-4*1*-4\\D=25+16=41\\\\x=\frac{-b+\sqrt{D} }{2a} \\and\\x=\frac{-b-\sqrt{D} }{2a}\\\\x=\frac{-5+\sqrt{41} }{2}\\ and\\\frac{-5-\sqrt{41} }{2}

The quadratic equation m^2+5m-4 has roots \frac{-5+\sqrt{41} }{2} and \frac{-5-\sqrt{41} }{2} .
