The question is- A grocer purchased 200kg of rice at rs25 per kg. He sold 80kg of at a gain of 10% and 40kg at a loss of 4%. At what rate per kg should he sell the remainder to gain 8% on his total invesment??

Total investment =25*200=5000rs

Earning on 80 kg and 4o kg = 80*25*10/100-40*25*4/100
                                             =40*25(20-4)/100
                                             =10*16=160rs
For profit o 8%on total=8*5000/100=400rs

Profit earned to left=400-160=240

remanining kg =200-120=80kg

Per kg profit=240/80=3 rs


Per kg selling rate which he should sell is 25+3=28rs
