A) Both are measured in units of length…feet, meters, parsecs, etc.

Both are measured from a point where travel starts.

Both have a stopping point.

Distance and displacement from a starting point to a stopping point would be the same if the travel were in a straight line in one direction.

B) The capillary tube fills up and the displaced liquid comes out.

C) If a body starts its motion from a point and comes back to the same point after some time, the displacement is zero. So the average velocity is also zero.
