Assertion: Person suffering from acidity is advised not to drink cold milk Reason: Cold milk is acidic and increases the acidity 3. Assertion: Farmers sprinkle slaked lime on the field. Reason: This is done to increase the alkalinity or decrease acidity of the soil. 4. Assertion: In soda–acid fire extinguisher, NaHCO3 solution is made to react with dilute H2SO4. Reason: Water and CO2 both are produced during the reaction, but only water helps in extinguishing the fire. 5. Assertion: Soap is rubbed on the sting of bee and ant. Reason: The sting of bee and ant contains formic acid and soap is alkaline in nature. Hence sting can be neutralised by rubbing with soap.
