Perimeter and Area of a Circle

(a) The areas of two circle...

(a) The areas of two circles are in the ratio 4:9. Find the ratio of their circumferences.

(b) The circumference of two circles is in the ratio 3:4. Find the ratio of their areas.

ANSWER

a) Area of two circles in ratio =4:9

πr12:πr22=4:9

r22r12=94

r2r1=32

Circumference =2πr1:2πr2=2π×32π×2=2:3

Answer = 2:3

b)Circumference of circle ratios =3:4

⟹r2r1=43

Area of circles =πr22πr12=r22r12=4232=169=9:16

Answer = 9:16
