the radii of two concentric circles are 13 and 8 cm respectively. AB is a diameter of the bigger circle and BD is a tangent to the smaller circle touching it at D and intersecting the larger circle at p on producing. find the length of AP.

GIVEN : OB=OA=13 cm, OD=8cm, angle D=90

PROOF: TRIANGLE BOD IS RIGHT TRIANGLE
BY USING PYTHAGORAS
BO square = OD square + BD square
(13) square = (8) square + BD square
169 = 64 + BD square
BD square = 169 - 64
BD square = 105
BD = √105 cm

AD = 2BD
AD= 2 X √105 cm
