The radii of two concentric circles are 13 cm and 8 cm. AB is a diameter of the bigger circle and BD is a tangent to the smaller circle touching it at D and intersecting the larger circle at P on producing. Find the length of AP.

As we know that diameter subtends 90°,
By joining all information,
XPDO is a rectangle.
All angles are 90°.
as angle PDO equals to 90 degree because of radius perpendicular to tangent.

=>OD = XP = 8cm(OD is smaller circle's radius)
From equation 1,
AP = 8×2cm = 16cm.
