Given,
x = 56 cm and y = 49 cm

Hence,
Area of pathway,
$= \pi( {x}^{2} - {y}^{2} ) \\ = \pi( {56}^{2} - {49}^{2} ) \\ = \pi(56 + 49)(56 - 49) \\ = \frac{22}{7} \times 105 \times 7 \\ = 22 \times 105 \\ = 2310 \: {cm}^{2}$
x is the radius of bigger circle where as y is the radius of smaller circle.

Isn't that simple?
