5 cm is the height maximum height of the stick that could be placed in the cylinder.
Imagine a box or take a box practically , u will get to know the longest stick you can place in it is equal to its diagonal. So similar is in with this case,
√h^2+r^2
=√16+9
=√25
=5 cm

saswata40: i can't understand it.
saswata40: please make me understand
yajmera8: imagine a box. or take a box u hav in your home. You will get to know that the longest stick you can place in that box is equal to its diagonal
yajmera8: same is in this case diagonal =√h(square)+r(square)=√4×4+3×3
yajmera8: =√25
yajmera8: 5 cm
yajmera8: Hope u hav understood it now.
saswata40: thanks yagmera8
