The radius and height of a solid right circular cylinder are 12 and 15 resp. It is melted and moulded into 480 uniform spherical balls. find the radius of each of the balls formed?

Sphere:

Let r be the radius of Sphere.

Volume of 1 sphere = 4/3πr³

Volume of 480 spherical balls = 480 * 4/3πr³ = 640πr³ cubic units.

But volume of 480 spheres = Volume of cylinder

=> 640πr³ =  2160π

=> r³ = 2160 / 640 = 27/8

=> r = 3/2.
