(a)The volume of cone is 452.3893 cm^2.

(b)The number of candles that can be made from remaining wax is 24.

  1. First find the volume of candle using volume=π×r×r×h where h is height and r is radius of candle. You will get volume as 1357.1680 cm^3.
  2. Now to find volume of cone use volume=(1/3)×π×r×r×h. You will get volume of cone as 452.3893 cm^3.
  3. Now to find number of candles subtract volume of cone from volume of cylinder you will get 904.7787cm^3
  4. Now divide the obtained volume by the of volume of new candles to be made. You will get 24 candles.
