The radius of a bicycle wheel is 35 cm. How many complete turns must it take to cover the distance 110 m?
Answers
Answer:
circumference of the wheel = 2πr = 2 × 22/7 × 35
= 220 cm
distance to be covered = 110m = 11000cm
No. of turns made by the wheel = 11000/220 = 50
Given :- The radius of a bicycle wheel is 35 cm.
To Find :- How many complete turns must it take to cover the distance 110 m ?
Formula used :-
- Distance covered by a wheel in one turn = Circumference of wheel = 2 × π × radius of wheel .
- 1 m = 100 cm
Solution :-
given,
→ Radius of bicycle wheel = 35 cm
So,
→ Distance covered by a wheel in one turn = Circumference of wheel = 2 × π × radius = 2 × (22/7) × 35 = 2 × 22 × 5 = 220 cm
now,
→ 1 m = 100 cm
→ 110 m = 110 × 100 = 11000 cm
then,
→ Wheel covers 220 cm distance in = 1 turn
→ Wheel covers 1 cm distance in = (1/220) turn
→ Wheel covers 11000 cm distance in = (1/220) × 11000 = 50 turns (Ans.)
Hence, the wheel will take 50 complete turns to cover the distance of 110 m .
