The radius of a circular ground is 35m. Outside it runs a road of width 3.5m. Find the

area of the road.​

Answer:

Area of ground without road = 2πr² = 2×22/7 × 35 × 35 = 7700m²

Area of ground with road = 2πr² = 2×22/7×(35+3.5)×(35+3.5) = 2×22/7×38.5×38.5 = 9317m²

Area of road = (9317-7700)m² = 1617m²
