{\bf{\huge{\underline{\boxed{\red{\mathcal{Answer}}}}}}}

Given:

  • Radius of clock's face = 8.5cm

To find:

  • Area of clock's face

Solution:

 \setlength{\unitlength}{1cm}\begin{picture}(0,0)\thicklines\qbezier(2.3,0)(2.121,2.121)(0,2.3)\qbezier(-2.3,0)(-2.121,2.121)(0,2.3)\qbezier(-2.3,0)(-2.121,-2.121)(0,-2.3)\qbezier(2.3,0)(2.121,-2.121)(-0,-2.3)\put(0,0){\line(1,0){2.3}}\put(0.5,0.3){\bf\large x\ cm}\end{picture}

Area of circle =  \pi*r^2

=> Area of clock's face =  3.14\times 8.5\times 8.5

=> Area of clock's face =  3.14 \times 72.25

=> Area of clock's face =  226.865 \approx 226.87 cm^2

The area of clock's face is \bf 226.87cm^2
