It has given that the radius of a nucleus is 1.2 × 10^-15 m.

(a) Fermi (f)

(b) Angstrom ( Å )

(c) nanometre (nm)

(a) Fermi is a unit of length in nuclear physics equivalent to the femtometre. i.e., 10^-15 m = 1 f

therefore radius of the nucleus = 1.2 × 10^-15 = 1.2 f

(b) Angstrom is a unit of length equivalent to the 10^-10 m. i.e., 10^-10 m = Å

now radius of nucleus = 1.2 × 10^-15 m = 1.2 × 10^-5 × 10^-10 m

= 1.2 × 10^-5 Å

= 0.000012 Å

therefore radius of the nucleus = 0.000012 Å

(c) nanometre is unit of length equivalent to 10^-9 m. i.e., 10^-9 m = nm

now radius of nucleus = 1.2 × 10^-15 m = 1.2 × 10^-6 × 10^-9 m

= 1.2 × 10^-6 nm

= 0.0000012 nm

therefore radius of the nucleus is 0.0000012 nm
