The radius of a spherical ball increases from 14 cm to 21 cm as air was pumped in . Find the ratio of the surface areas of the balloon in the two cases

Here is your Answer

Let r1 be the radius of smaller ballon = 7cm

and r2 will be radius of large ballon = 14cm

surface Area of sphere = 4πr2

∴Ration of their surface area = \frac{surface area of smaller ballon}{Surface area of bigger ballon}

=  r1^2/r2^2

= 7^2/14^2

= 7x7/14x14

= 1/4

= 1:4
