the radius of circle with Centre P is 25 CM the length of a chord a b of the same circle is 48 cm find the distance of chord from the centre of the circle​

hi..

let AB be chord of circle...(fig in attachment)

In AOP

<OPA= 90° (angle at point of contact)

so in AOP,
▪OA = 25 cm
▪OP= x cm
▪AP= 24cm

{ OA}^{2} = {OP}^{2} + {AP}^{2}
 {25}^{2} = {x}^{2} + {24}^{2}
625 = {x}^{2} + 576
 {x}^{2} = 625 - 576
x = \sqrt{49}
x = 7cm(chord \: distance)
