The radius of circular cricket ground is 60m. Around the ground a 7m circular gallery is to be built for spectators. What will be its area?

The radius of the ground = 60 m

Width of the gallery = 7 m

To find,

The area of the gallery.

Solution,

We can easily solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Area of the ground = π × (60)² = 3600π m²

Radius of the ground with gallery

= (60+7) m

= 67m

Area of the ground with the gallery = π×(67)² = 4489π m²

Area of gallery = (4489π-3600π) = π (4489-3600) = π × 889 = 22/7 × 889 = 22×127 = 2794 m²

Hence, the area of the gallery is 2794 .
