RAY DIAGRAM:

  • Radius of curvature of convex lens is 6 cm.

  • Object is kept at 6 cm and 3 cm on the principal axis.

Image formation:

  • Whenever object is kept at the centre of curvature of a convex lens, a real, inverted image is formed at the other centre of curvature of the lens.

  • When the object is kept at focus of the lens, an image is formed at infinity.

Image characteristics:

  • At centre of curvature: Image will be real inverted and is of the same size as that of the object.

  • At focus: Image will be at infinity and will largely be enlarged.
