Given:

The radius of curvature of a concave mirror is 10cm and the size of the image is 10 times the size of the object

To Find:

The position of the image.

Solution:

According to the question,

Radius of curvature (R) = 10 cm

Focal length, f = R / 2 = (10/2) = -5 cm

Magnification, m = size of image / size of object = 10 (Given)

m =\frac{-v}{u} = \frac{f}{f - u}.............(i)

10 = \frac{-5}{-5 -u}

⇒ u = -4.5

Now, putting the values in equation ( ),we get,

m = \frac{-v}{u}

10 = \frac{-v}{-4.5}

⇒ v = 45 cm

Hence, the image is situated at a distance of 45 cm from the mirror.
