Given :

The radius of curvature of concave mirror is 60 cm.

Size of object = 4cm

Distance of object from the mirror = 45 cm

To find :

The position, length and nature of the image

Solution :

Focal length(f) = Radius of curvature/2

= 60/2

= 30 cm

According to mirror formula ,

1/f = 1/v - 1/u

where v is the image distance and u is the object distance

F = focal length of a lens is positive for convex lens and negative for a concave lens.

f = - 30 cm u = - 45cm

Hence,

=> 1/(-30) = 1/-v - 1/-45

=> 1/v = 1/30 + 1/45

=> 1/v =(3 + 2) /90

=> 1/v = 5/360

=> v = 360/5

=> v = 72

Hence, the image distance is 72 cm and the image is real and magnified.
